Carers Association Against Modern Slavery (CAAMS)
The Carers Association Against Modern Slavery (CAAMS) is dedicated to creating a world where every carer is free from exploitation and abuse. By raising awareness, advocating for policy change, providing direct support, conducting research, and engaging communities, we aim to dismantle the structures that allow modern slavery to persist in the caregiving sector. CAAMS can build a future where all paid carers are empowered, respected, and free.
There is power and safety in numbers
Together we can lobby for stronger anti-slavery laws and improved labour protections for paid carers UK.
Modern slavery is a pervasive and insidious issue affecting millions globally, including those in caregiving roles. CAAMS is dedicated to eradicating modern slavery within the caregiving sector, ensuring the protection and empowerment of all carers. CAAMS’ Core Values are:
- Human Dignity: Every carer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, free from exploitation and abuse.
- Equity and Justice: We are committed to promoting fairness and justice, ensuring equal opportunities and treatment for all carers.
- Empowerment: Empowering carers through education, resources, and support to advocate for their rights and well-being.
- Collaboration: Working with various stakeholders, including policymakers to develop and implement regulations that safeguard carers’ rights.
CAAMS will empower carers with knowledge to seek justice against perpetrators through the Modern Slavery Act 2015

Join other paid carers on this journey towards a world free from exploitation, where every person’s well-being is valued above all else. CAAMS strives to offer every paid carer in the UK free membership to ensure inclusivity. This approach allows individuals, regardless of their financial situation, to participate in shaping and influencing policies that aim to make care work a fulfilling profession.
